Judge to rule on spat over seals at SoCal beach (AP)

SAN DIEGO – A judge is expected to hear a housing over whether a Southern Calif. cove where a seawall was shapely in the 1930s to stabilize the Pacific so children could play there needs to be cordoned off year-round to protect a body of nurse seals.

Friday's hearing concerning the Children's Pool comes as tensions hit reached an all-time high — a year after it appeared the municipality had smoothened out its long disagreement with seal advocates.

The squabble has exclusive deepened since the City Council voted terminal May for a year-round fastening obstruction to keep backwards the thousands of visitors who become to wager the seal colony.

The city's Planning Commission after denied the needed permits. The concern is now up to the court to decide.
