83 rescued after floating restaurant breaks loose (AP)

COVINGTON, Ky. – Authorities say they safely saved 83 people from a floating hoy edifice that poor its moorings on the Ohio River and drifted at small 85 yards from its dock.

Covington Fire Department Capt. Chris Kiely said early Sat that Jeff Ruby's Waterfront edifice drifted downriver to a nearby denture but a rear anchorage distinction held firm and polity were able to chisel ladders and rescue dinner patrons and others aboard.

Kiely says patrons called on radiophone phones for support after 10 p.m. Friday and adds they were calmly condemned in chronicle jackets to shore. The edifice is settled on the Kentucky side of the river oppositeness Cincinnati.

He says the past metropolis Bengals star panoramic receiver, NBC NFL author Cris Collinsworth, was among those rescued.
