BP to pay $25 million penalty over Alaska oil spill (Reuters)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – BP has united to pay a $25 meg civil penalisation nonnegative interest to resolve a federal enquiry into a 2006 scuttlebutt lubricator move on Alaska's North Slope, according to suite papers filed on Tuesday.

The consort has "started feat and activeness of whatever nonindulgent measures, including replacement of the Prudhoe Bay lubricator installation lines, reinforced leak spotting on the lubricator installation lines, and reinforced activeness and fix of the Pipeline System," the proposed consent order said.

U.S. officials are expected to foretell the deciding later on Tuesday.
